Solitaire is a one-position Gold EA with three alternative exit modes. Its publisher explains the operational difference between a virtual trailing stop, a broker-held trailing stop and a fixed take-profit order.
A virtual trail is maintained by the terminal and can be tighter than a broker permits for an actual stop order. That flexibility requires the EA to remain running; a broker-held protective stop remains a separate layer. The broker-trailing and fixed-target modes have different connectivity and execution trade-offs. Commission and swap adjustments are part of the stated net-target calculation.
Solitaire makes the location of an exit rule unusually visible in its description. In virtual mode, the terminal watches the trail and submits a market close when the condition is reached. A broker-held trailing stop instead requires successful order modifications. Comparing the modes means checking both the intended level and the actual fill, not merely which curve ends higher.
The source says a protective broker stop remains underneath the virtual trail. Verify its presence on each demo order and after a restart. A local trail can stop updating during a disconnection while the broker stop still provides a different, usually less tight, boundary. That gap between the two protections belongs in the risk assessment.
The net-dollar target includes cost adjustments, so use the account statement to reconcile commission and swap. An apparently identical gross-price move may not produce the same net amount after an overnight hold. Finally, keep the one-position restriction distinct from the exit mode: simplifying concurrent exposure does not make execution at a specific trail price certain during a gap.
