Moving Average Cross Signal is an MT5 indicator that displays and reports moving-average events. Its author distinguishes a preliminary alert before candle close from a confirmed arrow afterward. That distinction is important when evaluating historical charts: a completed arrow does not show every provisional signal that appeared while the bar was still forming.
Provisional and confirmed events are different data
The indicator can alert when a crossing looks possible and again when the condition is fully formed. The author says each alert type is limited to once per bar. For a useful observation log, record the alert time, candle state and eventual confirmed result. A preliminary event that disappears before close should not be counted as an executed trade unless your own strategy actually acts at that stage.
Smoothing choices change the signal
The product offers several moving-average calculations, periods, channel-width options and interpretation methods. This flexibility means there is no single performance profile implied by the product name. Fix the chosen methods and periods before comparing symbols or timeframes. Increasing smoothing may reduce short-term changes while delaying recognition of a move; assess that trade-off against the intended holding period rather than selecting the smoothest historical chart.
An indicator is not a complete trading system
The publisher links an automated account and discusses possible integration into an EA. Those references do not establish that every manual use of this indicator follows the same entries, exits or sizing. A standalone alert leaves decisions about protective orders, spread limits and exposure to the user or a separate program. Record those additional rules if you want a test that can be repeated and compared.

Does a changing value on an open candle prove historical repainting?
No. A live bar can legitimately change before it closes. The useful check is whether previously confirmed historical values change afterward and whether the selected strategy uses provisional or confirmed data.
Is the linked trading account the result of every indicator setting?
No. It represents a particular account and implementation. Its result cannot be assigned to arbitrary periods, smoothing methods or manual trading decisions.
