Logan MT5 is a Gold EA with filtered initial entries and an ATR-spaced recovery grid. Its publisher describes EMA alignment, ADX, tick activity, volatility, spread and candle-direction checks before the first trade. If price moves adversely, additional positions can be opened with changing volume. This means the initial-entry quality and the recovery exposure need separate evaluation; a high proportion of first-ticket wins does not explain the risk of the remaining baskets.
Several confirmations may reduce trading frequency, but once a losing sequence begins the account follows the recovery rules. Inspect grid spacing, volume progression, maximum depth and combined floating loss. ATR-based spacing responds to volatility, yet a persistent directional move can continue beyond an expanded interval. Claims about surviving a particular historical movement should be treated as sample-specific. They do not establish a universal price distance the account can withstand under different sizing or margin conditions.
Daily drawdown has two possible actions
The publisher says the daily calculation includes realised and floating losses. Reaching the threshold stops new positions, while immediate closure of active trades is optional. Make that option explicit in any comparison. Pausing additions may leave an existing basket exposed, and closing it realises a loss that a balance-only view may previously have hidden. Check the reset time and how the next day resumes, particularly if positions are carried across the boundary.
Broker profile and news permission affect setup
The description specifies XAUUSD M15, recommends RAW/ECN conditions and discourages cent accounts. It also identifies a distinct broker-profile option and an external news-feed permission. Verify the current guide rather than assuming every broker profile uses identical internal settings. Test the signal account’s default configuration separately from custom inputs, and record the feed, costs and version. A nearby VPS can reduce one source of delay but cannot guarantee liquidity or a requested execution price.

Logan MT5 EA: tester demo and licence options
MQL5 provides tester-only demonstrations for Market EAs and indicators. Open the original listing to check its demo option. An EA demo runs its trading logic in the Strategy Tester; an indicator demo is viewed in visual testing mode. This is different from receiving a free licence to run the full product on an online chart.
For Logan MT5 EA, use the setup notes above to identify what the tester can demonstrate and what still requires a supported account, data source or publisher guidance. Read MQL5’s product-testing rules ↗

Is Logan a non-grid EA because entries are selective?
No. The publisher explicitly describes a recovery grid that can activate after the first position moves adversely. Selectivity affects entry frequency; it does not remove the later accumulation process. Review the largest baskets and open equity loss rather than only the percentage of initial winners.
Does the daily limit automatically close every trade?
The description makes immediate closure optional. Verify whether the installed configuration only blocks further entries or also liquidates existing exposure. These actions have different consequences for a basket already in drawdown, including what remains open when the next trading day begins.
