Cortex IDX EA

Cortex IDX is a US30 trend-and-pullback EA with one open position at a time. Its publisher describes two profit-exit choices—trailing or a fixed target—and an early losing-position exit when an opposite M1 signal appears. The distinctive question is how this reactive exit behaves during reversals and noisy price movement. One-position operation simplifies exposure review but does not establish a fixed maximum loss under every execution condition.

Cortex IDX EA research guide

Pullback entries depend on the trend definition

A retracement can resume the previous direction or develop into a reversal. The product is described as entering with the prevailing trend, so a useful record should show the context around both successful continuations and failed pullbacks. Inspect the time of day and index session as well. US30 behaviour near the cash opening can differ from quieter periods, and the contract’s spread and tick value affect the result even when two brokers use similar symbol names.

Opposite-signal exits need a failure-case review

Closing a losing position after an opposite M1 signal is different from a guaranteed exit at a preselected price. Ask what happens if the opposing condition does not appear promptly, if the terminal disconnects or if the close request is delayed. Review the actual protective order configuration in the manual and terminal. A responsive exit can shorten some losses while also closing trades during temporary noise; compare both outcomes rather than assuming every early exit improves the result.

Trailing and fixed targets create different samples

Changing the profit-management mode alters holding time and exposure to reversals. Keep the entry settings and test interval fixed when comparing the two choices. The publisher reports checking multiple broker feeds, but that remains a development claim rather than a guarantee for the intended account. Use real-tick data where available and inspect order costs, rejected requests and recent as well as older market conditions. A $100 starting-balance statement does not replace a contract-specific sizing calculation.

Cortex IDX EA: tester demo and licence options

MQL5 provides tester-only demonstrations for Market EAs and indicators. Open the original listing to check its demo option. An EA demo runs its trading logic in the Strategy Tester; an indicator demo is viewed in visual testing mode. This is different from receiving a free licence to run the full product on an online chart.

For Cortex IDX EA, use the setup notes above to identify what the tester can demonstrate and what still requires a supported account, data source or publisher guidance. Read MQL5’s product-testing rules ↗

Cortex IDX EA questions

Does the attachment timeframe control the opposite-signal exit?

The publisher allows any attachment timeframe while explicitly describing M1 monitoring for the opposing signal. Confirm the internal-period behaviour in the current instructions. The visible chart period alone is not enough to reproduce the management process.

Is the stated starting balance a safety recommendation?

It is a publisher specification, not a guarantee that every lot setting is appropriate. US30 contract values vary. Calculate the monetary exposure, required margin and potential stop loss using the actual broker instrument before interpreting a small-balance example.
